Vegetables
Eating more vegetables, especially greens, is essential to reaching and staying at your ideal weight.
Vegetables are our most important source of fibre, vitamins and minerals, and high-quality carbs. For vegetarians and vegans, they’re also the most important source of protein. They also help fill us up, without excess calories.
Eat as many non-starchy vegetables as you can. They should make up the bulk of every meal. Think green beans, broccoli, spinach, kale, bok choy, tomatoes, cucumber, capsicum and salad greens.
Limit your starchy vegetables: potatoes, sweet potatoes, sweet corn and pumpkin.
Avoid dressing or sauce on your vegetables unless it’s home-made, with no sweeteners.
Eat more fibre. Use natural psyllium husk as a calorie-free fibre supplement.
